Not only for kids!

,
Who said that marbles are for kids? Perhaps no one said that or someone did but do you want to know something? FACT: THEY'RE NOT.

I can hardly remember when I was a kid and I spend the school break playing this game. They only thing I know it's that I still have at my home a pot really full of marbles. They are so diferent colours, sizes and shapes... wait not shapes, they are all quite rounds.
Rodrigo came last week to me and said
"you know what's going on in Prague this saturday?" I was hoping some naked-twister or maybe any free beer festival were we could play naked-twister but the answer was "there a tournament of marbles" and who would say no to an oportunity to remember your childhood? So he bought some marbles, the crappy ones actually. I'm sure you know which ones I'm talking about, those ones that we're crystal and with some color inside.

So ready to play and after some trainning in the corridor, Rodrigo and me went this morning to the island and had there a great time there!! The tournament was really well done organized, first of all a league and then after that the eliminatories. We didn't do a great job there, I mean, we lost more games than victories but what really matters is that we had fun. This is what losers says after a championship, isn't it? hehe.

For next tournament, more and better ;)

Onboard Diary

Sunday 01.03.09 - Hostivar, Praha 10

11.30 I've woken up. I'm still sleepy. Some milk and a couple of cookies are my not enough breakfast but I don't feel like having something more neat.

12.00 Finally I have a laptop, it's not mine but at least satisfies my bloodlust. I've been downloading all the tv shows I had to. A week without my only adiction hasn't been easy. I even was thinking about going out from home. I didn't.

13.00 I'm hungry again. That poor breakfast wasn't enought. But it's sunday and I don't feel like cooking that can take more that 3 minutes to cook. Thank godness I have nuddles. I not a great meal but is enough.

14.30 Of couse I'm hungry again. I've just remembered that I have some rice from the left overs from yesterday night. I add a fried egg and some pepper make it more tastier. Now ain't hungry anymore.

15.00 The corridor is so lonely... You can't see anyone there. Are they here?

15.15 I've heard a noise. I went next to the door to listen better. But I can hear anything else. Was it my imagination?

16.30 Oh my God! Oh my fucking God! I've just seen the last episode of Lost. Oh my God! For sure one of the best episodes of the whole serie. I can't wait anymore for the next one. Doh! I've just remembered it's sunday. I have to wait a bit more.

17.00 It's getting dark. No one in sight on the corridor.

17.30 Joana is alive. She has just talked to me by messenger. We're going to watch a movie in a while. It's a great idea. I need some social life. I was starting to understand Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

That's all folks!

What would you do if someone tells you that you can get a FREE flight just paying a simple kiss to your couple ? I don't know you, but this weekend I've been in Amsterdam without spending anything on the flights.

I always wanted to do that thing you see on the movies: take your backpack, go to the airport to take a plane without knowing where are you going. And that's exactly what we did. Sandra&Rodrigo Mikel&Diana and Magda&me, the six of us took a plane on St. Valentine's Day for free to Amsterdam... and it's been awesome.

What did I know about Amsterdam before going? Drugs & Sex! But the city it's much more that that. Canals all around the streets, great views of the houses and streets, music, art, bikes... I've traveled quite a lot this year and Amsterdam it's the best place I've ever been!

We went without having any hostel or place to stay. Once there on a cyber-cafe we booked for 25€ a place to leave the backpacks and have a great breakfast, because we didn't sleep there... It's a long story related with Amsterdam, muffins, marihuana and getting high... Which better place in the world to try?

What else? The first day was a great sunny day. Lot of walking around the streets and canals with my mouth opened because of the great views, I had never imagined such a cool city it is. Our mistake in the afternoon was to go into that church with audio-guide... Imagine: around 36 hours without sleeping, a really quite place, listening to a pleasant voice and a bit dark the end couldn't be another one that falling asleep all of us. After that a small-expensive (we're bad used to in Prague) beer somewhere around the red light and then... coffeshop.

Next day, after every effect went away... We did a free guided tour pretty cool. Some sightseeing and some coffe to finish the trip. Magda and me came back yesterday night. It's been funny to be a couple these days... I'll miss you darling ;D

There are some pictures about the kiss, but for those ones you have to pay!

The 3 Brnomads

,

Brno is a city of many interesting and weird details. There’s the church with a statue showing its shiny butt to the people passing by. There’s the city hall’s entrance, with some details bended and tilted because the sculptor wasn’t paid the agreed amount. There’s the famous Brno dragon, which is actually an Amazonian crocodile. And there are women who turn out to be men and who take you to dark alleys. But Paco can tell you more about that.

With it’s small churches, big squares and welcoming pubs, Brno is a fantastic city to visit. We went up to the castle and to the tower of the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, enjoying the two best panoramic views the city has to offer.

In the evening, we went to Pivnice Pegas and had one of the best beers we had in Czech Republic: Pegas. Traditionally made there in the bar, with two slices of lemon, it was pretty damn good. Besides, the waiter gave me the beer glass! I still want to kiss that handsome man in the lips.

After that, we met our hosts through Couch Surfing, Martin and Luuca. They took us to this bizarre bar in what was, according to them, “the dangerous part of Brno”. We were pretty sure our kidneys were going to be sold to rich members of the Russian mafia, but we went inside anyway and had a great time with them. Turns out she is a medical student and he did Erasmus in Valencia, so we had a lot in common!

After that, we went to their place. The first sentence Martin said when we entered: “Who wants a shot?” We were drinking and hanging out with them the whole night. Even Morty, the curious cat joined us. It was really a night to remember.

Martin and Luuca, thank you for your kindness and hospitality. You have made all the future Couch Surfing experiences look like crap.

Next morning the crew was quite ill, so we turned the ship back to Prague earlier than we expected. Not a big deal, though, as we left Brno happy for the amazing day we spent there. We went to so many churches and drank so much that you could think we were Polish.

Brno, we will miss you!

Lusty!

,

Love between the cleaning ladies and our corridor is all around. You throw our sponge to the rubish, we leave the tables outside, you throw the things over the fridge, we hang our uderwear on the corridor, you put some papers to threat us, we don't care... That's the way relationships become true.

Students 4ever!

,

If my degree is 3 years and this one is my 6th one is not because I'm lazy or a bad student, it's because I know that the best live it's the student one. Specially the Erasmus student one!

There's a candy for you!

Even sick, with a little bit of fever and last night I only slept 5 hours here I am feeding my readers one more time.

This week almost everyone is really focusing on the university studies. Rodrigo, Sandra and Diana have an exam tomorrow morning and also Filipa and Joana on friday. May the force be with all of you. Marine I don't forget you, really good luck tomorrow too! I'm quite sure they're doing great like always so I'm not worried. My project is really going ahead this week, I'm really proud of the achivements I got the last days. So to celebrate the effort all of us are doing lately this week everyone is having a reward somehow during the weekend:

# Joana & Claudia are going Amsterdam some days.
# Rodrigo, Sandra and me are going to Brno and Olomuch. We are trying CouchSurfing for very first time!!
# Filipa is with her mother until saturday and maybe on sunday meet us on Olomuch.
# Armando and Magda are being visited by some friends.
# Diana is spending the last days with some of the portuguese people that is leaving soon.
# Pierre and Chia are still around Europe, hope they're having a great time.
# I'm sure that Marine will enjoy this weekend also after the exam.

So we are splitted but enjoying the time for sure! See you my friends!

The Sweetest Thing

,

Yes Marine, you are the sweetest thing. Only some hours have gone since we left Marine at the airoport this morning, but it's wierd... don't really know how to explain. The life here goes on, of course, but for me it's like something is missing and actually is someone missing.

I only know Marine for four months, you can think that this time is not enought to be attached to a person so much, but time here... it's different. These four months are like years. Living together day by day, listen to that person when she has problems or talk to her when I do, sharing great experiences... Like she said today, "you are not my erasmus friend, you are my friend".

You'll always keep a place in me, hope so do I. This is not the end, is not a goodbye. You are part of the Gang and there'll be a next time ;D

See you soon Marine.

PD: sorry for the pussy post.

You rock my room

,
HUGE! AWESOME! LEGENDARY! And that's like the party was this saturday night on the 6th floor, where else?

At the beginning a nice couscous dinner made by Marine&co accompanied with lots of beers. Then some washing team and the real drinking part started. After that mimics!!

"Bambi is a great Disney movie"
"Loredana got lost in the suburbs of Prague at midnight and never came back"
"I'm cheating on you since I can't remember"
"Rodrigo felt into Vltava while he was taking pictures to the swans"

I can't remember anymore, feel free to comment if you remember. After that we started to play twister! Best game ever! I'm loving it!! And the end of the party, my room (360) became an after. Like 8 people in my room non-stop dancing! That was great, there's no good party not ending in my room, in the good meaning of the sentence. Actually also that bad one too ;)

So great party as a farewell for one of the grestest person I've ever meet, Marine.

,
2009. May. From 18th to 22th. Words are useless...

What else can I say? I know there's still almost four months to go there, but the wait it's gonna be worthful. Travelling to a city far away from home, completly different culture and good friends. All at the same time. Can be better? Will tell you.

Příští zastávka Nádraží Hostivař

,
Welcome to the tram 22 line of Prague.

If you stay sitting on this blog, you'll be able to watch all the stupid things that some Erasmus people can do along the time we are spending here in Prague. My name is Paco, I'm an official member of the well known 6th Floor Gang and I'm the one who is going to be with you along this amazing trip around Hostivar & Praha.

Today it's 20.01.09, ye I know that it's already 21 but I haven't gone to sleep yet so we are in the same day. Come on! I was trying to say something! So today 20 of January, it's the last day of one of our little family here in the 6th floor. Justine is coming back home to France tomorrow morning. I'm trying to upload the movie we've made for her as farewell present so you can watch it and have some fun as we did. We knew that this day would arrive, but it's a pitty to lose one of our loved friends.

See you Justine, hope every little thing goes allright. Hug time!
